The Marsh Christian Trust
The Marsh Christian Trust, a grant making body, was established in 1981 with the aim of providing long-term core funding to selected registered charities in their chosen field of work and never to individuals. The Trust broadly supports causes in the following areas: Literature, Arts & Heritage; Social Welfare; Education & Training; Environmental Causes & Animal Welfare; Healthcare & Medical Research; Overseas Appeals and Miscellaneous. Since establishment in 1981, the organisations supported have grown from just 8 to number over 250. The Marsh Awards Scheme, developed to seek to reward people or activities in a variety of differing fields, currently presents 17 Awards ranging from the Marsh Ecology Award to the Marsh Volunteer of the Year for Work with Children.
